The \’Son of God\’ doctrine

According to Ephesians 4:11-13, what are we all expecting to attain?
Eph. 4:11 He gave some to be apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, shepherds and teachers;
12 for the perfecting of the saints to the work of serving to the building up of the body of Christ;
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a full grown man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
“Until we all attain to…” Have you ever noticed that this is a prophecy of where the body of Christ needs to get to?
So, what is standing in the way of fulfillment? Well, it spells it out: “until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God…”

The true Son of God doctrine … was sworn by an oath to David, and then preached exclusively throughout the book of Acts for salvation, as the only acceptable option for being “knowledge of the Son of God” that we are now “groaning and travailing in hope and expectation” (Rom. 8:21-25) until the “we all\” of Eph. 4:13 to attain to it…
“Brothers, I may tell you freely of the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day. Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that of the fruit of his body, according to the flesh, he would raise up the Christ to sit on his throne.” (Acts 2:29–30 with Psalm 132:11 & 2 Samuel 7:8–17)

Acts 2:22“Men of Israel, hear these words! Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved by God to you by mighty works and wonders and signs which God did by him… 36…God has made him both Lord [King] and Christ [the Anointed One], this Jesus whom you crucified.”
(Acts 2:22–23, 36; see also Acts 3:13–26, 5:29–32, 7:37, 7:54–56, 13:16–41)

How solid is this Son of God doctrine?

The apostles never once strayed from preaching Christ as a man who was foreknown and anointed by God, and who was born of the offspring of David. In fact, this same Son of God doctrine (that Jesus is a man, born of the seed of David) is the only view of Christ that can make all these other claims:

  • It is the only view of Christ that the apostles invariably preached (openly declared).
  • It is the only view of Christ that was clearly and invariably confessed without any ambiguity whatsoever.
  • It is the only view of Christ that you can find clearly and thoroughly taught (expressed, explained, and expounded upon) in the entire Bible.
  • It is the only view of Christ that doesn’t require any extrabiblical words and phrases to adequately express.
  • It is the only view that is clearly prophesied throughout the Old Testament.
  • It is the only view that is clearly expressed in the first mention (Gen. 3:15) and the last mention of Christ (Rev. 22:16-21) in the Bible
    (in addition to every other clear passage in between)!
